All candidates who have obtained their high school diploma abroad, must have their diploma recognized in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Nostrification, or recognition of equivalency, is the process of recognizing a diploma from completed elementary or secondary school or certificates of completion of individual grades of elementary or secondary school obtained abroad.
The right to initiate the process of nostrification and recognition of equivalency of a foreign school document is held by citizens of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina who have completed school or individual grades of school abroad, as well as foreign citizens and stateless persons if they have a legal interest.

Required documentation:
- Certified copy of the diploma,
- Certified copies of certificates for all grades completed abroad or other school document (a report card),
- Translation by a certified (court) interpreter.
